Father’s Day is coming up, and it’s a great time to fire up the grill, enjoy the summer weather and whip up a steak house inspired menu that will delight the dads in your life! Each item on this menu is inspired by the dads in our lives, and includes some of their favorite dishes. In addition to being a great Father’s Day menu, this is an awesome anytime entertaining menu. It is designed to be prepped in advance so you can be a part of the toasting with your own cocktail in hand, instead of being stuck in the kitchen. Our Easy Yet Elegant recipe this month, a Bruschetta Pesto Chicken, is a show stopper! It’s also very appropriate for our Father’s Day newsletter as it is Alston’s husband’s new favorite dinner of choice! And a favorite of ours too as it’s easy enough for a weeknight meal yet it’s special enough for company! Win, win!

‘Elegant yet Easy’ recipe (subscribers only): Bruchetta Pesto Chicken

Dantini

Caesar Salad

Steak with Tomato Oregano Salsa

Twice Baked Potatoes

Fudge Cakes (base for ice cream sundae)

Father’s Day Hosting Tips:

Batch out the Dantinis into freezer cocktails so everyone can cheers upon arrival instead of having to shake out individual cocktails (full instructions here and our batching and martini essentials are here).

Don’t have time to make homemade Chex Mix? Grab some of your dads favorite snacks - peanuts, pork rinds, chips, store bought chex mix, combos, honey mustard pretzel nuggets, jalapeno stuffed olives - and put them out in a trio dish for serving.

Whenever making twice baked potatoes I always make a few more than I am planning on serving. After baking the skin and filling them, wrap them in plastic wrap, then aluminum foil and pop them in the freezer to have on hand for future dinners.

Homemade Caeser Salad dressing is pretty life changing, but if you don’t have time to make your own pick up this salad dressing - it’s the next best thing! You can use code HABITUALHOSTESS10 for 10% off your order!

Anytime (anytime!) you grill make sure to use a wireless thermometer to make sure your meat and fish are perfectly cooked. This one is our favorite and also makes a great Father’s Day gift.

Sub in whatever the dads in your lives favorite dishes are! Thinking of it as a last meal request - it’s always fun to serve the guests of honor their favorite foods.

NEW ‘Elegant yet Easy’ Recipe- Bruchetta Pesto Chicken

Father’s Day Shopping List & Prep Timeline

This dish contains to many of my favorite flavors - juicy tomatoes, fresh, warm melty mozerella and cold tangy balsalmic vinagar. Each bite of this Bruchetta Pesto Chicken is bursting with all flavors, and the juxtipotision of the hot chicken with pesto and melted cheese with the cold, tangy bruchetta is absolutely fabulous. I have been working on iterations of this recipes for years, and finally perfected how to get all of these flavors into each bite, so no surprise it has become my whole families hyperfixation dinner. As promised, its easy enough for weeknight meals, but it’s also perfect for entertaining! This dish make for a beautiful presentation and is perfect for all of your upcoming summer hosting! Enjoy, and a big thank you to all of our subscribers to help support all of our work here at Habitual Hostess!
