Fireside Dinner Tips:

Light the Fire Early: We always start the fire 30–45 minutes before guests arrive so it’s already glowing when they walk in. This fire starter and lamp oil are a game changer! Full tutorial here.

Lean Into Cozy: This is the night to bring out all the soft things, from napkins to throws… A basket of blankets by the fire or draping a blanket over each chair so it feels intentional but effortless. This is the perfect moment to bring out all of your Chappy Wrap blankets! And you can use cod HABITUAL20 to build your own collection. Best blanket ever!

Move into the dinning room when dinner is served. We like to serve this menu family style for a cozy, causal feel. Then move back into the living room for dessert and coffee at the end of the night. We love setting up a coffee and hot chocolate bar with dessert liqueurs so everyone can add a splash of what they want to theirs.

NEW ‘Elegant yet Easy’ Recipe-

January calls for recipes that feel a little elevated but don’t ask too much of us—and this month’s recipe fits that perfectly. This braised beef with onion soup–style flavors is rich, cozy, and deeply comforting, yet simple enough to make on a quiet winter evening. Slow-cooked until tender and spooned over toast, it’s the kind of dish that feels special without being fussy—the exact balance I’m always looking for this time of year. Whether you’re cooking for a fireside dinner or just craving something warm and satisfying, this is one to keep in your winter rotation.
