Soup & S’Mores Party Tips:

Hosting indoors and outdoors simultaneously is the perfect formula for fall entertaining! Set up a soup bar in your kitchen with pots of soup simmering on the stovetop or in slow cookers, soup bowls stacked on the countertop, and a s’mores bar outside with fire pits roaring to keep everyone toasty.

If watching a game, consider moving your tv outside! We don’t have a dedicated outdoor tv, but we move one of our tv outside and set it up on this frame and its actually quite easy to do!

Create a cozy outdoor environment by setting out lots of blankets - our favorites are from Chappy Wrap and you can get 15% off your order with code HABITUALHOSTESS15

Set up a s’mores bar with trays of different types of chocolate (milk, dark, white), specialty marshmallows, a variety of cookies or graham crackers and fun add-ons such as peanut butter cups, caramel squares and fruit slices. Make sure to have skewers for roasting the marshmallows and lots of wet wipes out for sticky fingers!

Don’t have a wood burning fireplace or fire pit outside for s’mores? These tabletop stoves are so chic and perfect for making s’mores!

Once temperatures drop we love serving hot toddys - these glasses are the perfect size for serving a warm cocktail and oh so chic.

Soup & S’Mores Shopping List & Prep Timeline

My mother-in-law makes a White Bean & Escarole Soup that is one of my absolute favorite foods of all time. After watching her make it many times, I realized that her process of making soup really makes a huge impact on how the flavors turn out. She was kind enough to share all of her tips, and luckily for all of you, I put her soup into a working recipe. There is nothing quite like having a pot of soup simmering on the stovetop to give you all those cozy fall vibes, but we also know that life is busy, and sometimes you don’t have a few hours to put together the perfect pot of soup. So for that reason, I included directions for how to make the same soup in a fraction of the time in your instant pot. This is a recipes that will become a staple in your household for years to come!
