SUMMER SOLSTICE PARTY This is a celebration of the longest day of the year, and is all about life, love, flowers and delicious food. The Swedes (Leigh’s husband is of Swedish descent) do it right by starting preparations early in the day cooking and picking wild flowers. The traditional midsummer menu has a few musts: potatoes, pickled herring, aquavit, and fresh strawberries. We pickled cucumbers instead of herring and swapped the aquavit for a floral cocktail. Bread and butter is also part of the smörgåsbord and this preparation might have been our favorite on the table! Gather some friends and re-create this simple and beautiful party on June 21st ☀️

HOSTING TIPS:
Set up a DIY flower crown station for, or order fun faux ones for guests to wear.
Use small bud vases to arrange different flowers on your table - if you have flowering trees and plants in your yard snip buds from there.
This might sound like a no-brainer, but make sure you are hosting outdoors! It’s all about enjoying sunshine, fresh air and nature!
