HOSTING TIPS:
Lots of dishes can be made in advance. Make a schedule of what can be made ahead and on which day you should tackle it! Planning is KEY!
Make a master plan of what is going into the oven, when, and for how long. If you only have one oven think about what dishes you can put in a slow cooker on warm, or keep warm in a chafing dish.
If possible, set your table up to a week in advance! That is an easy thing to take off your plate and will feel more fun if you’re not rushing to do it last minute.
Buy lots of disposable containers for guests to bring leftovers home in.
If you are setting up a kids table-look into coloring placemats, crafts and activities you can use to entertain and to decorate the table.
Have people bring dishes so all of the cooking doesn’t fall on you. There might be something special they always look forward to on Thanksgiving and they can bring that!
Plan a list of what serving pieces you will use for each dish-this way you have time to fill in any gaps in your servewear.
Set up a self-serve bar area so guests can help themselves. Don’t forget to purchase extra ice!
